area have close to $60 billion in annual purchasing power and more than
2.2 million of the New York area's 3.2 million African Americans currently have
and use the Internet as a major resource to identify products and services they
wish to purchase.
Black Business Climate
New York is a fertile back drop for African American businesses.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2002 estimate, New York has 155,274
African American owned businesses with revenues exceeding $9.4 billion annually.
African American businesses thrive, prosper, and continue to grow as the city
and the region grow.
